Preparing for WonderCon 2026
And Getting into SFS Art Fest and AnaCon
Hey there, scavs!
Time sure is flying, isn’t it? I’ll have a new chapter of Glitch up soon, WonderCon is just around the corner, and I just found out I got into both SFS Art Fest and AnaCon so I’ll have another couple of shows to attend this year! So, let’s get into this month’s newsletter, shall we?
Glitch Chapter 5 is Almost Done
This very difficult chapter is finally almost done! I’ve figured out how to tackle it and I’m very excited about how it adds more depth to the lore of the Wasteland compared to its comparable pages in the comic books. I adore how the new malfunctioning robot servitor, DAR-1 aka Darwin, is developing, and I’m very happy with how things are progressing by giving Ari more information to work with as she finds Project Genisys so she’s not just blindly fumbling in the dark.
I’ll be posting Chapter 5 for paid subscribers this weekend, and will also share another installment of Exploring the Wasteland before sharing Chapter 6.
WonderCon 2026
Next weekend, March 27-29, is WonderCon! This is my favorite convention to attend since it’s the one where Glitch started. I’m nervous about attending with the change from Wasteland Comics to After Worlds End Publishing—both because of brand recognition and because I know not everyone who’s into comics is into books, so I might lose some fans—but I’m determined to make the best of things and have a good time.
If all goes well, I’ll be able to find more people to subscribe to this Substack and follow along with Glitch’s progress as a novel, especially since I’ll be in Small Press rather than Artist Alley. And I think the comics are still worth selling as a really fun primer on the Wasteland and its characters. We’ll see how things go, though.
If you plan to stop by, find me in Hall A’s Small Press Pavilion at Table SP-41. Show me you’re one of my Substack followers and I’ll let you have your pick of an 8x10 character art print!
SFS Art Fest & AnaCon
I also have a couple of small appearances lined up now! (That’s why this update is a bit delayed, since I was waiting to hear about these.)
First, SFS Art Fest in my hometown of Santa Fe Springs is April 25th! It’ll be at Heritage Park like last year, so a nice outdoor event full of great local artists and vendors to discover. I’ll have more info about that in next month’s newsletter.
And second, this will be my first year going to AnaCon, hosted by the Anaheim Public Library. It’s a really cool little convention where vendors table at the library. I went as an attendee last year and it was great! That event is May 16th.
With these added to my list of events, I’ll have one appearance each month for the next three months! I’m very excited about that, and I’m hoping I’ll be able to drum up some decent excitement for Glitch in the process.
Well, that’s it for this month’s newsletter! I hope I see some of you at WonderCon next weekend. It’s always nice to see familiar faces and catch up with readers. And Zephyr likes catching up with friends, too!
With love and gratitude,
Sarah Landauer ☀️
