Hey there, scavs!
Sorry for the slightly delayed newsletter. Between the 15th of the month being Father’s Day and my ongoing job search, time kind of got away from me. But I’m here now, so let’s get this newsletter started!
First, New Branding!
Before I talk about Whittier Comic Fest, you might have noticed some new branding. That’s because I just received my brand new(ish) logo to reflect the name change from Wasteland Comics to After Worlds End Publishing!
I’m really excited to have this new logo, though I probably won’t be able to afford updating stuff like my table runner for conventions for a while. But still, the goal was for the new logo to be recognizable to fans of Wasteland Comics even if they’re not aware of the name change yet, and I think it accomplishes that really well. I’m going to try to get my website updated with all the new branding soon, too. (And maybe add some branded merch to the online store.)
Special thanks to graphic designer Rachel Morgane of FancyLandCo, who I found on Etsy to design not only the new logo but also a bunch of cool branding assets. She was really great to work with.
Now, Whittier Comic Fest!
And with that update complete, on to the main event: Whittier Comic Fest!
If you’re in the Whittier area this Sunday, June 22nd, please stop by the Rose Gardens Banquet Hall & Event Center for six hours of comics, collectibles, and community! The event is free to attend and there will be a ton of awesome local creators and vendors there—myself included. I’ll have the usual items on offer: copies of GLITCH #1-3 (plus the few leftover variant covers of GLITCH #2-3), stickers, enamel pins, pin-back buttons, tote bags, art prints (including metal ones), and trading cards.
This will be my first year as a vendor at Whittier Comic Fest, which is a relatively new little convention right by my hometown, though I did stop by as an attendee last year and it was really fun. The organizer is a wonderful guy and I’m really looking forward to being part of the show, especially since this is their first year at a larger venue. It should be a fantastic time, and I’d love to see some familiar faces! If you do come by to say hi, let me know you’re a Substack subscriber and I’ll even give you a free tote bag and GLITCH poster (while supplies last).
And that’s about it for this month’s update. I teased a possible big update last time, but I’m still waiting to hear back about things, so fingers crossed I’ll be able to cover that in next month’s newsletter.
Also, keep an eye out if you’re interested in more posts and writing from me since I’d like to open up paid subscriptions soon (partially because I think it’d be fun doing all those posts and partially because being without work has been awful for my wallet and I’ve got to try making a little money somehow).
That’s all for now! Take care, and hopefully I’ll see some of you on Sunday!
Thanks for reading! ☀️
